Community Groups

At Stonehill, we organize our community groups in semesters to create natural rhythms of rest, engagement, and growth. This approach gives people the opportunity to join new groups, explore fresh topics, and build new connections throughout the year. It also ensures leaders and members have intentional breaks, helping everyone stay energized and committed. Our spring semester will kick off in the new year, with signups opening the first week of January. In the meantime, if you have questions about groups please email Jake Garrett

ROOTED

(A GREAT PLACE TO START)

Rooted is a 10-week small group experience designed to connect you to God, the church, and your purpose in life. It is for those who are new to groups and/or Stonehill, new to the Christian faith, or those wondering what it means to be a Christ-follower.

Together, your group will explore the Bible, engage in prayer, serve, share stories, and practice rhythms essential to a healthy spiritual life. These spiritual rhythms are found in Acts 2 where the early church began.

OFF-CAMPUS GROUPS

We believe doing life together in biblical community is one of the most important things we do. The reality is life is better in circles than in rows. That is why we offer Community Groups at Stonehill. Community Groups are made up of 10-15 people who meet weekly for ten weeks each semester (Fall and Spring) to encourage one another, study the Bible, have fun together, and pour into each other. We all need people to love, support, and cultivate spiritual growth. Community Groups are the perfect environment for that to happen!

MEN'S GATHERING

The Men's Gathering is a place where men of all ages come together to dive deep into God's Word, build lasting friendships, and strengthen their faith. Whether you're a seasoned Christian or just starting your faith journey, the Men's Gathering is for honest conversation, authentic community, and spiritual growth.

This Fall, we'll dive into a series called "Fathered by God" by John Eldridge. Eldridge teaches about the path to authentic manhood, cut by generation after generation of men. Yes, there are perils along the trail, even disasters--all the more reason to rely on the guidance of a Father who has gone before us.

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY

The Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible Study is a group that is for any woman, in any age and stage of life and faith. It is a place to deepen their faith and relationships with each other in an atmosphere that is large enough to meet new people, but intimate enough to make lasting friendships, all while diving into God’s Word!

This fall, we’ll be working through Lisa Harper’s study, Luke: Gut-Level Compassion. Many of us believe that we aren’t good enough to meet other people’s expectations. Maybe even assume we’re not quite good enough for God either. The great news woven throughout the Gospel according to Luke is that perfection is not a prerequisite for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. In fact, this riveting account reveals that Jesus is especially fond of ragamuffins in need of a safe place to lean in and linger!

Join us in this study that doesn’t celebrate the elite, but embraces the outliers, outcasts, and overlooked!

FAQ ABOUT Community groups

How long do Community groups meet for each week?
Community groups often meet for 90 minutes. There are groups that meet throughout the week and the meeting times differ between each group. Be sure to find a group that meets at a time that allows you to attend regularly.
How long are you committing to be in a group?
Community groups go for around 4-10 weeks at a time. We have three semesters. A winter semester that starts in January or February, a mini summer semester, and a fall semester that starts in September. Group members can choose to stay with a group for each semester or join a different group at the beginning of a new semester.
Is childcare provided?
Childcare is provided by some community groups. This is fully dependent on the group. Whether or not a group provides childcare, can be found in the description for the group.
How do I become a leader?
At Stonehill we are passionate about developing and empowering leaders. If you would like to host or lead a group, send us a message below and we will connect with you.
Why have semesters for community groups?
Semesters allow for natural breaks for groups. They are long enough for groups to build meaningful connections and short enough that people feel comfortable committing to a group. Semesters also make it easy to allow new people to join groups at given times.
